*Fox News Channel commentator Glenn Beck said he believes President Barack Obama is a racist and has exposed himself as a person with "a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture," reports the Associated Press. Beck made the statement during a guest appearance Tuesday on the "Fox & Friends" morning show during a discussion of Obama's reaction to the arrest of Harvard University scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. Gates is black and was arrested for disorderly conduct by a white policeman over a misunderstanding about a break-in at Gates' home. An Obama spokesman, William Burton, said the White House had no comment on Beck Click over to check out the video of Beck making his comment.
Musicals at Richter to close season with Schwartz show
In 1971, at the age of 21, composer Stephen Schwartz, of Ridgefield, scored a hit with the musical "Godspell." In 1983, he turned his attention once again to biblical themes and the concept of a musical based on the first nine books of the Bible. Originally called "Family Tree," it was renamed "Children of Eden" by director John Caird, who oversaw the first production in London in 1991.
